Volga Dnepr and Chapman Freeborn keep the lights on in Malaysia

Volga-Dnepr Airlines and Chapman Freeborn have used an Ilyushin IL-76TD-90VD Freighter to deliver a 19-tonne welding system for a power station in Malaysia.

The 19-tonne portable welding equipment and other cargo was necessary to repair a main rotor, which had malfunctioned at an energy companies’ power station providing electricity for the Malaysian state of Sarawak. The 11 pieces of cargo were packed in special crates for transportation and loaded using a three tonne capacity forklift vehicle. The IL-76TD-90VD flew to Bintulu in Malaysia from Jakarta.

Chapman Freeborn’s regional manager in Singapore, Anton Lomakin says: “This on-time transport operation was another excellent example of how we work closely with Volga-Dnepr to deliver urgent cargo all over the world. We value the Volga-Dnepr team’s professional work on behalf of our clients.”
