Turkish Cargo will utilise their network and fly their Turkish Airlines passenger aircraft for airfreight as repercussions from the coronavirus outbreak and travel bans send global supply chains into disarray. The passenger aircraft will join the 25-strong cargo fleet.

Flying the first of the cargo flights operated with a passenger aircraft on 20 March with a B777 type on the Istanbul-Kiev route, Turkish Cargo is to operate cargo flights to Bucharest, Tel Aviv, Amsterdam, London, Paris, Amman, Beirut and Dubai, thus adding 5,000 tonnes of additional capacity.

The airline will transport much needed medical equipment and supplies, adding 14,500 tonnes of extra capacity to and from Turkey with 167 additional cargo flights.
