- Sarah Macfarlane has been named CEO of Airbridge International Agencies (AIA Cargo), as confirmed via her LinkedIn update.
- The move comes just months after the company appointed Giuseppe Tarantini to the role in July 2025. Macfarlane rejoined AIA earlier this year as VP of Cargo Sales and Services and brings 28 years of industry experience, including roles at KLM, ANA, and APG Cargo.
Sarah Macfarlane has been appointed Chief Executive Officer at AIA Cargo, according to an announcement she shared on LinkedIn today.
Macfarlane rejoined AIA Cargo earlier this year as Vice President of Cargo Sales and Services, overseeing key markets including the UK, Ireland and the Netherlands. She had previously worked with the company between 2011 and 2024 in a senior sales capacity before a brief stint at APG Cargo as commercial director.

Her promotion to CEO marks a significant milestone in a 28-year career spanning major roles with KLM, ANA, and other leading cargo organisations.
Macfarlane replaces Giuseppe Tarantini who took on the role of CEO of AIA Cargo back in July, following the departure of Mark Andrews from the company.
“After a short but intense and eventful time at the helm of the AIA Cargo & Animal Aircare Ltd teams, I would like to share that I am handing over leadership responsibilities to Sarah Macfarlane , who will assume the CEO position at AIA Cargo, and to Jake Holliday , who will take on the CEO role at Animal Aircare,” Tarantini said.
“My best wishes and congratulations go to them both on these well-deserved appointments. I am confident that the newly initiated journey will continue with renewed energy, determination, and fresh ideas, further strengthening partnerships across our remarkable animal welfare and airfreight industry
“I would also like to sincerely thank the wider AIA Cargo and Animal Aircare teams for their dedication, professionalism, and continued support.”
