Romcargo's US foreign carrier permit accepted

Just over a month ago, Romcargo Airlines applied for permission to fly in and out of the USA. Last week, the Department of Transportation (DOT) accepted the request, meaning the Romanian cargo airline, which operates a single Boeing 747, can fly to the States from the EU.

“It is in the public interest to issue the applicant a foreign air carrier permit. (…) We also find that the applicant is financially and operationally qualified to perform the services authorised, and that it is substantially owned and effectively controlled in a manner consistent with the provisions of the US-EU Agreement,” the DOT states.
