Lufthansa reconnects Munich with Tehran

Lufthansa has relaunched nonstop services Munich – Tehran with three times a week Airbus A330-300 services from today (4 July).

Flight number LH602 will leave Munich at 22.10h on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, landing in Tehran at 05.20h. The return flight, number LH603 will leave Tehran at 06.55h on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, landing back in Munich at 09.30h. Lufthansa had previously connected Munich and Tehran between spring 2004 and summer 2006.

Lufthansa’s Munich hub chief executive officer, Thomas Winkelmann says: “Due to increasing business relations, we are expecting a significantly higher demand in the future.”

Lufthansa says half of Iran’s industries are located in Tehran, especially oil and gas, with textile, agriculture and building materials industries also proving important.

The group also offers daily Boeing 747-400 flights to Tehran from Frankfurt and Austrian Airlines is flying to the Iranian capital twice a week from Vienna using an Airbus A320.
