Liege Airport reports 23 percent cargo growth in third quarter

  • Liège Airport has reported exceptional growth for the third quarter of 2025, with its cargo community handling 334,956 tonnes of freight between July and September — a twenty-three percent increase compared to the same period last year.
  • Cargo flight movements rose by nine percent over the same period, reflecting continued demand across key trade lanes.

Year-to-date, the airport has achieved fourteen point four percent growth, driven primarily by robust e-commerce imports and strong European export performance, which rose by twenty-six percent year-on-year.

After just nine months, Liège Airport has become Europe’s leading full-freighter airport, handling 961,640 tonnes of air cargo. Over the longer term, France Aviation Civile Services’ latest global air traffic survey ranked Liège among the top five fastest-growing cargo airports worldwide, with freight volumes up twenty-nine percent between 2019 and 2024.

This sustained performance underscores Liège’s role as a sustainable, efficient, and multimodal logistics hub at the heart of Europe — continuing to attract global operators seeking reliability, flexibility, and capacity in a dynamic market.
