Gebrüder Weiss takes over Koler, Kuhn & Merk

Gebrüder Weiss has taken over Koler, Kuhn & Merk Speditions after owner Dietmar Koler wanted to retire and had no successor.

The purchase agreement was signed on Tuesday 27 August and applied retroactively to 1 January 2019 for the Reutte, Tyrol based company.

The two companies have a long-standing partnership and have agreed not to disclose the purchase price.

Hannes Mayr, regional manager West at Gebrüder Weiss says: “Acquiring the freight forwarder KK+M in Reutte enables us to cover another important region in Tyrol and southern Germany for our customers. We will retain all the employees and would like to continue expanding there.”

KK+M has been a fixture of Tyrol’s freight forwarding industry for 57 years and has 10 employees offering logistics services covering land transport, air and sea freight, customs, removal and parcel services. Koler will remain on hand to support the company as a consultant.

As of 1 January 2020, KK+M will be run as Gebrüder Weiss’ Reutte subsidiary and report to the Hall branch.

Together with locations in Innsbruck, Hall and Wörgl, Gebrüder Weiss has four offices in Tyrol employing 300 people.
