Australian Border Force signs MOU with Singapore

Australian Border Force (ABF) commissioner, Michael Outram, countersigned a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the Trade Facilitation with the Singapore government on March 20. Singapore’s director-general of customs, Ho Chee Pong, and chief executive officer of the Infocomm Media Development Authority, Tan Kiet have also signed the MOU.

The agreement will allow ABF and Singapore Customs to trial the digital exchange of trade documentation and to explore how our trade single windows can be connected to facilitate customs data exchange.

“This MOU will support Australia’s efforts to make trade digital, seamless and secure,” commissioner Outram commented.

“A secure and efficient trading environment is essential to supporting Australia’s economic prosperity.”
