Air France KLM has seen cargo volumes fall by 6.7 per cent to 700 million revenue tonne kilometres (RTK), with KLM struggling but Air France seeing some growth.

In July, KLM saw RTK fall by 11.8 per cent to 399 million while Air France was up one per cent to 300 million. Available tonne kilometres (ATK) at Air France increased by one per cent, keeping the load factor at 48.9 per cent, while KLM cut capacity by 6.9 per cent though the load factor still fell by 3.4 percentage points.

Year-to-date, the group’s RTK is down 7.4 per cent to 4.8 billion, with Air France seeing a dip of 2.8 per cent to two billion and KLM falling 10.5 per cent to 2.8 billion. Group ATK was cut by 5.3 per cent to 8.2 billion with Air France down 0.8 per cent to 3.9 billion and KLM by 9.1 per cent to 4.3 billion.

The group’s load factor for the year has fallen 1.3 percentage points to 58.4 per cent, with Air France down one per cent to 51.1 per cent and KLM seeing the same fall to 65.1 per cent.
