Buffalo Airways is allowed to fly again as its air operator certificate has been reinstated by Transport Canada.

Transport Canada had suspended its certificate on 30 November 2015 because of the company’s poor aviation safety record. The certificate has been reinstated with immediate effect following approval of its corrective action plan.

Transport Canada says: “Buffalo Airways’ corrective action addresses Transport Canada’s concerns regarding the company’s safety record and its ability to keep its operations consistently compliant with aviation safety regulations. Transport Canada will closely monitor Buffalo Airways to verify that its corrective action is implemented and sustained.”

Buffalo Airways is based in Yellowknife in Canada’s North West Territories and operates a fleet including Canadair CL-215s, Douglas DC-3s and DC-4s, and Lockheed L-188 Electras.
