Virgin Atlantic Cargo and Delta Cargo are to co-locate their dnata cargo handling facilities under one roof across the UK.

The airlines will co-locate their cargo handling at London Heathrow, London Gatwick, Manchester, Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Belfast, Birmingham, East Midlands, Leeds/Bradford and Newcastle from 8 June. The companies say the move will provide single drop-off and collection points and provide faster turnaround times.

They have co-located facilities at the North American gateways of Atlanta, Boston, Las Vegas, Miami, New York John F. Kennedy and Newark, Orlando and Washington Dulles, since the joint venture started in 2014.

Virgin Atlantic Cargo senior vice president, John Lloyd says: “Our working relationship with dnata in London has such longevity because they not only consistently meet our stringent service level agreement but they also work with us to find other ways to deliver service improvements and efficiencies to our customers.”

Delta Cargo president, Gareth Joyce says: “Co-locating our cargo operations at Heathrow and across the UK under ‘one roof’ in partnership with dnata will help realise greater synergies, while delivering a more seamless and efficient service to our customers.”
